Getting Enough Sleep?

The U.S. National Sleep Foundation recently did a study of 1,000 Americans and how much they sleep. They found that most Americans are sleeping for 6 hours and 40 minutes on weekdays. Many people reported being drowsy or falling asleep at work and one in three reported falling asleep while driving.

It's been estimated that in 1900 people got 10.5 hours sleep a night. This was before the electric light became popular. When it comes to being organized you have to make decisions about all kinds of things. If you don't get enough sleep you're going to have a tough time with those decisions.

For some reason we've developed a society which thinks that you show some kind of strength by not getting much sleep. Plus there are so many distractions which keep people up late at night including watching TV and spending timeon the Internet. You'll be doing both your body and your mind a great favor is you get more sleep.
